2011 Cheer Program Overview
Welcome to Cave Creek Cheer!
We are fortunate to have our cheer program run again this year under the direction of Cactus Shadow High School State Champion Cheerleaders and Cheer Coach, Rika Cuff. Cheer is open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 to 14 years. Cheerleaders will learn cheer fundamentals as well as team building and good sportsmanship. No prior cheerleading experience is required.
Cheer Fees
Cheer Registration: $100 (non-refundable)
Association Fee: $150 (in the event that your cheerleader must withdraw from cheer, the Association Fee only will be refunded as long as the withdraw is before August 27, 2011)
Sponsorships: As with the flag and tackle teams, cheer teams will also be required to obtain team sponsorships. Team sponsorship requirements will vary by team size but will amount to $25 per cheerleader.
Uniform/Equipment
A cheer uniform is provided with registration. You will be required to provide: cheer shoes, socks and bloomers.
Practice
In order to develop cheer consistency, teamwork, and sportsmanship, all cheerleaders will practice together. Cheer practice will take place each Wednesday beginning August 10th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Desert Arroyo Middle School basketball courts. At practice, cheerleaders will wear their practice uniform: tee-shirt, shorts and shoes. Each cheerleader should also bring plenty of water. The practice area DOES NOT have bathroom facilities so, to avoid disruption during practice, please have your cheerleader take a bathroom break before practice. Pursuant to JFA rules, cheerleaders must have submitted a Medical Clearance Form completed by their doctor before they will be eligible to practice with the cheer team.
Team Placement/Games
Every effort will be made to place cheerleaders on flag/tackle teams with siblings, but team placement will ultimately be determined by the number of cheer participants. Football games are played on Saturdays with tackle games beginning on Sept. 10, 2011 and the first flag games starting on Sept. 17, 2011.
A cheer team mom volunteer will be required for each cheer team. Team moms will be responsible for the cheerleaders on each team.
